Alkira strengthens its ties with Amazon Web Services
Alkira announced a stronger business relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS), providing advanced networking and security options to AWS customers.
The cloud network company is now listed on the AWS Marketplace. Instead of managing multiple vendor purchase orders, AWS customers can consolidate their software and service purchases on one AWS invoice. This allows AWS and Alkira to collaborate on co-selling opportunities and enables faster adoption by customers of Alkira Cloud Services Exchange (CSX) and Alkira Cloud networking software as a service.
Alkira also announced the general availability of integration with AWS Transit Gateway Connect. The new AWS Transit Gateway attachment type allows customers to connect third-party SD-WAN hubs and virtual network appliances. Alkira claims that this offers transparent AWS cloud capabilities to Alkira customers and provides network as a cloud service simplified for on-premises, cloud and multi-cloud network environments.
“Alkira is delighted with this closer business engagement with Amazon Web Services,” said Amir Khan, CEO and Founder of Alkira.
“Businesses no longer need to take on the risk and lead time themselves to create, maintain and secure on-premise network infrastructure or DIY solutions. CTOs can now use their entire infrastructure directly from AWS Marketplace with Alkira’s Network Cloud, the only -as-a-Service network on the market. “
Alkira is now part of the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, a co-sales program for AWS partners who deliver software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS. The program helps generate new business and accelerate sales cycles by connecting participating ISVs to the AWS sales organization.
“Business customers are looking for new ways to complement the AWS shared security model to build, secure and operate their networks,” said Chris Grusz, director of business development for AWS Marketplace, Service Catalog, and AWS Control Tower.
“Alkira’s cloud services exchange in the AWS Marketplace will help customers create a global, elastic and highly available cloud network. Embed next-generation security to protect their AWS environment and gain in-depth infrastructure and application insights for operational excellence. “
Alkira is also participating in Amazon’s APN Global Start-Up Program, an invitation-only go-to-market program designed to support mid-to-late stage start-ups that have raised institutional funds, achieved market fit for products and are ready to scale. The Start-Up Program provides assistance to start-ups by assigning partner development managers with extensive knowledge of AWS and business experience in start-up or co-sales.
Some features of Alkira Cloud’s AWS services include:
- Cloud Firewall Security for AWS Workloads: Apply a uniform security policy based on firewall zones for AWS cloud application traffic to one or more regions. Akira’s solution provides automated firewall provisioning, health monitoring, scaling and symmetric traffic control.
- End-to-end network segmentation: Segmentation and micro-segmentation can isolate AWS VPCs and reduce the attack surface. Communication between segments for shared application services can be selectively allowed with or without the application of firewall security policy.
- Visibility of the deep cloud network: The Alkira portal provides extended operational visibility into the health, availability, usage, and traffic flows of cloud network applications for the AWS cloud environment.
- Elastic scale and high availability: Alkira’s unified backbone connects single-region and multi-region AWS cloud environments with speeds of tens of gigabits by leveraging the high-speed, low-latency AWS backbone.
