Lifelong Learning of Central Arizona College recently announced its participation in AWS Academy, an Amazon Web Services program that provides higher education institutions with an out-of-the-box cloud computing program.
Beginning in mid-May 2021, students can enroll in courses that will prepare them to pursue a career in the growing cloud computing arena and for industry-recognized AWS certifications, according to a statement.
Lifelong Learning has joined the AWS Academy program to offer the Cloud Foundations course to students starting in summer 2021.
âAWS Academy brings together higher education institutions, students and industry leaders to fill the skills gap in the cloud and meet the needs of thousands of new cloud professionals. By delivering AWS-created courses and learning resources to educators, we are investing in higher education at large, helping educators and administrators prepare their students to join the 21st century workforce â , indicates the press release.
The AWS Academy program is developed and maintained by AWS experts, ensuring that it reflects current services and up-to-date best practices. Classes are taught by AWS Academy-accredited teachers who are trained by AWS to help students master the technology.
âWe are proud to make the AWS Academy program available to our students,â said Joel Beck, director of lifelong learning at CAC, in the statement. âThe rapid rise of IT is creating an increasing number of high-quality jobs in organizations around the world, and the technical skills that students develop through this program will position them well for their careers today and of tomorrow.”
