VIAVI Observer Extends User Experience Scoring and Issue Isolation to Cloud-Based Applications
Observer Apex and Observer Gigator Now Available on AWS Marketplace to Extend Service Visibility and Accelerate Cloud Deployments
Chandler, Ariz., August 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Viavi Solutions Inc. (VIAVI) (NASDAQ:VIAV) today announced the latest update to its comprehensive Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD) platform, Observer. Version 18.8 continues to build on the promise of simplified cloud monitoring with data center-like visibility, bringing two key features to cloud-based applications and deployments – automated End user experience (EUE) problem domain scoring and isolation. The previously announced Observer 3D monitoring initiative introduced active testing for SaaS applications and now core components of the Observer platform have been optimized for fast and efficient cloud deployments.
The Observer EUE notation combines the unique information from packet monitoring and active monitoring into a single unified value for each network transaction. Adding metadata and a rich feed ensures that every information technology (IT) stakeholder, from network engineer to line of business owner, gets the right view of network service health, which enables rapid troubleshooting in the event of an issue, on-premises, hybrid and cloud.
As part of the update, the company announced that Observer Summit and Gigator Watcherboth integral to the performance and diagnostic capability of the Observer platform, will now also be available directly in AWS Marketplace, a digital catalog with thousands of software listings from independent software vendors that make it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy software that runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Organizations migrating their mission-critical applications to AWS services can now seamlessly extend visibility of their on-premises services to AWS instances in the cloud.
In the most recent Network status A survey by the VIAVI, NetOps, and SecOps teams highlighted their accelerated shift to cloud-based hosting and growing pressure to maintain sufficient service awareness and deliver exceptional EUE. The survey also found that emerging skills gaps and limited budgets were adding pressure on IT teams.
Observer’s latest update, coupled with the availability of AWS Marketplace, means current Observer customers – or those considering Observer as a solution – can be confident that their service visibility should not be impaired as they continue their cloud migration initiatives. IT teams can now easily deploy Observer on their the entire hosting and IT services ecosystemwith easy-to-deploy Observer agents that can also be used for individual remote users or ad-hoc troubleshooting.
“At a time when enterprises are accelerating the migration of mission-critical applications to the cloud, this release of Observer makes it easy for them to maintain the visibility of the services they expect from VIAVI,” said Chris Labac, Vice President and General Manager, Network Performance and Threat Solutions, VIAVI. “Our customers have been very clear that their network and service architectures will need to continue to evolve in order to meet user needs and the competitive demands placed on their business. So they need an easy way to extend Observer’s visibility, including EUE scoring, to cover on-premises, SaaS, or AWS cloud instances. Observer 18.8 offers exactly that.”
